OUR PEOPLE IN PROFILE- ROSIE MENDOZA

Rosie Mendoza is a licensed Certified Public Accountant and is the managing shareholder for R. Mendoza & Company, P.C. She has over twenty years of experience in the field of accounting and earned her degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Ms. Mendoza's clientele has included companies such as the Austin Independent School District, Austin Community College District, Austin Travis County Mental Health and Mental Retardation Center, Austin Community College Foundation, Austin Area Urban League, Inc., City of Austin, Capital Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs, New Milestones Foundation, YWCA of Austin, Austin DMO and the Austin Public Library Foundation.

Ms. Mendoza is a dedicated community servant and is the incoming Chair of the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. She has also served on the Board of Austin Travis County Mental Health and Mental Retardation, the Capital Area United Way, SafePlace and the Austin Museum of Art, to name but a few. In 2005, Ms. Mendoza received the Girl Scouts-Lone Star Council 2005 Women of Distinction Award.

Ms. Mendoza is serving a four-year term on the Board of Managers and was appointed by the Austin City Council. Ms. Mendoza serves as Treasurer of the board, is the Chair of the Budget and Finance Committee and serves on the Audit and Primary Care/Mental Health committees.
