OUR PEOPLE IN PROFILE- ROSE LANCASTER
Rose Lancaster is a retiree who dedicates her time to serving the Travis County community. For the past ten years Mrs. Lancaster has served on the Board of Directors of the Austin/Travis County Community Health Centers. Additionally, she serves as the Chair of the Health Committee for the Homeless Task Force, a collaborative planning effort focused on ending chronic homelessness in Travis County. Mrs. Lancaster has also served her community through her congregation, helping to start the Samaritan Counseling Center, serving on the Board of Austin Area Interreligious Ministries and serving as President of Presbyterian Border Ministries for five years.
Before retiring, Mrs. Lancaster served as the Executive Director for both Extend-A-Care and Manos de Cristo community dental clinic, as well as developing programs for a youth residential program.
Mrs. Lancaster holds a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Literature from Millsaps College and conducted graduate level work in Mexico and at Tulane University.
Mrs. Lancaster is serving a four-year term on the Board of Managers and was appointed by the Austin City Council. Mrs. Lancaster serves as Secretary of the Board of Managers and as Chair of the District's Primary Care/Mental Health Committee.
