Brenda Coleman-Beattie is the CEO and Principal Strategy Consultant with 2Thrive4, a strategy consulting company that provides services for private and public sector organizations and individuals. Additionally, she is a behavioral health care consultant. She also previously held the position of Assistant Chief Operating Officer with the Lower Colorado River Authority from 2001 until 2004, as well as several other executive management positions with organizations throughout the country.
Ms. Coleman-Beattie maintains a distinctive record of public service. She has served on the Texas Council for Developmental Disabilities as a gubernatorial appointee since 2002. She is presently the board’s chair, a role she has fulfilled since December 2008. She previously held the position of chair of the Council’s project development committee from 2006 until 2008. Additionally, she serves as a member of the boards for the Breast Cancer Resource Centers of Texas, The Austin Project, the University of Texas at Austin School of Social Work Advisory Council and has been a member of the Zachary Scott Theatre Center Board for more than 10 years. She has also served in leadership positions with the National Alliance on Mental Illness and the Central Texas African American Family Support Conference. She received the New Milestones Foundation, a group supporting mental health, Champion Award in 2004.
Ms. Coleman-Beattie was appointed to a four-year term on the Board of Managers by the Travis County Commissioners Court in March of 2009 and fulfills a previously unexpired position, which will expire in December of 2011.
