Patricia Young Brown Receives Regional Award from Austin Business Journal
Travis County Healthcare District President and CEO Patricia Young Brown was recently awarded the
prestigious Austin Business Journal 2009 Profiles in Power: Central Texas Women of Influence Award.
The award, for the Nonprofit/Governmental category, was presented on Friday, July 24 at a special
reception in Austin.
In its 15th year, the award honors Central Texas businesswomen for achievements in business,
community and personal life. A total of 25 recipients in five categories were selected for Friday’s
awards ceremony.
“It’s truly an honor to be recognized among so many amazing finalists and nominees. I must thank
former Mayor Pro Tem Betty Dunkerley for the nomination and the awards selection committee for this
distinction. It’s a reflection of the work we do at the District to serve the community, not my own
personal accomplishments, and I very much appreciate the honor,” Young Brown said.
